Internet Merchant Account with good rates?
« on: July 23, 2008, 08:04:23 AM »
Whoa, my Wells Fargo rates for processing Visa and Mastercard are high. They used to be 2.35% they went up in April to 3.45 and I just talked them "down" to 3.35%.

Does anyone have an Internet Merchant Account provider that they are happy with (using authorize.net) that provides lower processing rates?

Never mind...I called the company again and they lowered my rate to 2.4%, which is advertised on their site: https://www.wellsfargo.com/biz/merchant/options/gateways/ima/pricing

I guess I'll be watching this more closely in the future.

http://www.cdgcommerce.com - great rates, excellent customer service, supports auth.net

http://www.propay.com - slightly higher percentage but lower yearly fees (auth.net not supported).

Hello!

It sounds like you would greatly benefit from the Merchant Processing CrystalTech now offers through Newtek. They have great rates, and you receive the same type of service as you normally would get with us here.

Send me over a PM if you're interested and I can have a business specialist give you a call and discuss it more.

GeoffH....do you work for Newtek?  All the CT employees identify themselves of the forum with a [CT] behind their name.

Hi,

Newtek is now our parent company, but I can tell you from experience you'll get better support form our merchant service division that most other payment processors. Rates are really competitive and generally beat out most others including PayPal etc. We can do authorize.net as well. I cannot stress enough on how important it is to have in house (u. s. based) support for a merchant account. Issues get resolved quickly and you always know exactly whats going on with your account. It's pretty nice.

On a side note, having a merchant account with a Bank generally isn't a great idea as they hold onto funds for awhile. You may want to think about moving away from your bank for merchant account so you get your funds transferred to you immediately. I have a bit of experience with that (was with BofA) so if you have questions just shoot me an email or a PM and i'll give you some advice.

Hope that helps.
