Newtpaypro questions
« on: April 19, 2010, 04:41:16 PM »
Hello. I'm considering building my own shopping cart for a small ecommerce site I've got to design soon. Actually, I'm going to be designing a couple sites that both need to sell. Both sites will sell one item at a time and each item is very expensive. So, I thought I'd try Nettpaypro after talking to a sales gal. But, I forgot to ask. Is it easy to send the info needed to the processing form or? when I build my own shopping cart? Where do I get the information about what I need to send to the processing application so that I can buld my forms, etc, and make sure I collect the correct info. Also, is there some FAQ about this and how to work with errors, exceptioons, etc,?
Thanks
Tim

Hello Tim,

Sending the information to the form should be fairly easy, if you are familiar with developing in the language that you are going to have the cart in. Now, information about what needs to be sent when processing the payment would be based on the gateway you are using, for example, Authorize.NET is a primary one that we use and information about development can be found here:

http://developer.authorize.net/

Errors, exceptions, and anything else really can be found on their website and is a great deal of help. Of course, it depends on what merchant processing/gateway you are going to go with, for the exact settings.

You might want to just safe yourself some time (of course, it's your call entirely) and just use a free cart (a great one is Magento) and just use a plugin for the gateway. With using something like Magento, and it being open source, you can modify the code entirely and cut out anything you don't need. This could save you some time and money. Alternatively, if you want something that just easily works with our processing, and is very straight forward we have our NewtekCart, which integrates seamlessly with NewtPayPro.

If you're interested in anything of the above, just send me a PM with your contact information, and I can have a business specialist give you a call and go over things further with you.
