Hello Forum Members,

Recently did a manual install of Wordpress 4.6. When I attempt to insert an image (Insert Media) into my test post I get an error message:

The uploaded file could not be moved to wp-content/uploads/2016/08.

I am able to post my message, but unable to upload an image along with the post. From my research it appears this may be a permissions error, but I'm unaware how to check or change permission on IIS.

Any assistance appreciated. Thank You.

Apologize for the delayed response.

This typically is a permissions issue as you hinted at.  WordPress and Windows sometimes don't play the best together.  One of the common arenas where problems arise is where folders are written to by some type of action within WordPress.  What normally ends up happening is we temporarily update permissions on the IUSR for the wp-content folder to modify/write permissions, have the client make the necessary updates &/or uploads, then close off modify/write permissions for that folder.

We'd be happy to help moving forward.  Please let us know!
